Navigating Food Reform in Israel
Date: 19 March, 2025
Time: 14:00-14:45 GMT
Members: Book now
Chaired by Head of Membership, Leon Cook, and delivered by Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Expert, Liat Hessel, you will gain an insight into new regulations and changes in food legislation in Israel.
On 24 July 2024, Israel’s Health Committee adopted 44 EU food regulations to simplify importing European food, beverages, and supplements. The reform covers contaminant levels, food contact materials, labelling, and mineral water standards.
Most of the new regulations came into force on 1 January 2025. Israeli food businesses now have a three-year transition period to implement the changes, which may extend to five years, making the final adoption date between 1 January 2028, and 1 January 2030.
Although these changes are intended to simplify imports, technical challenges with labelling, exceptions and ambiguities related to the 44 regulations, including those on food additives and claims, still exist. Liat will help you understand the deadlines and complexities of the reform during the webinar, and what steps you need to take to ensure your products comply. You will also have the opportunity to ask Liat any questions about the regulation changes during the webinar.
